A Syrian Islamist who called on German Muslims to join the “Holy War” in his home country has now said Germany is a “paradise” that he never wants to leave after moving there.
Haian M., 41, a car mechanic by profession, travelled to Munich with his wife and two children in November 2015 after deciding to leave the war in Syria and apply for asylum in Europe.
Haian M. later applied for a residency permit but investigations into his application reportedly led to the discovery of his hardcore Islamist preaching and he is now wanted by the authorities on the grounds of posing a threat to security.
The car mechanic reportedly called for German Muslims to move to Syria and fight for the Holy War in a propaganda video filmed in Syria in 2013.
In the video he was reportedly seen sitting in a wheelchair, as he lost a leg in the conflict, waving a machine gun.
He said in the video: “Dear Muslim Brothers! I want to call you to the Holy War. How will you explain to God after you die why you did not take part in the Jihad? You can just fly from Germany to Syria and fight for the Jihad”.
According to German newspaper Bild, the Bavarian Deportation office is now looking for Haian and journalists reportedly found him living in an idyllic residential complex on the outskirts of Maunich.
He said he is afraid he will be “thrown out of the apartment and of Germany”.
He added: “Germany is paradise. My wife and children are allowed to stay here, but I have to go. A lawyer is defending me”.
Haian said of the propaganda video: “The video was cut that way by Assad s people, because of this one word: jihad.”
No arrests have been reported.
